BOG DeathGrip Aluminium Rifle Shooting Tripod Clamp Hunting Rest Stick
Hands-free support with 360° pan and adjustable tilt
"The BOG DeathGrip Aluminium Tripod has become a favourite among hunters for its rock-solid clamping system and dependable stability. The adjustable clamp securely holds your rifle in place, freeing up your hands while maintaining a steady shooting platform. Built from durable aluminium and designed for real field use, it’s a reliable tripod that performs exceptionally well in demanding conditions." - Soph.
The BOG DeathGrip Aluminium Tripod provides a stable shooting platform for hunting, pest control, target shooting and range use.
Its adjustable DeathGrip clamping system holds the rifle securely around the stock or forend. Non-marring rubber inserts protect the rifle while helping prevent movement inside the clamp.
Once positioned, the tripod supports the rifle without it needing to be continuously held, leaving the user free to observe, range a target, operate other equipment or prepare for the shot.
Adjustable Shooting Position
- The clamping head pans through 360 degrees, allowing the rifle to follow a moving target or cover a wide area without repositioning the complete tripod.
- A separate tilt adjustment allows the rifle angle to be altered, while adjustable movement tension provides controlled repositioning.
- The tripod legs can be adjusted through angles from approximately 0 to 85 degrees. This allows the DeathGrip to be configured for low-level, seated, kneeling and standing shooting positions.
Stable Aluminium Construction
- The aluminium legs provide a strong and stable platform, with cam-style lever locks for fast and secure height adjustment.
- Each foot can be configured with either a rubber contact surface or a steel ground spike, helping the tripod remain stable across hard surfaces, soil and uneven outdoor ground.
- A rubber leg-retention strap holds the legs together when the tripod is folded for carrying or storage.
Important Height Information
BOG states a nominal height adjustment range of 7 to 59 inches. This should not be interpreted as the tripod’s folded length or as a guaranteed vertical clamp height in normal use. The actual height of the rifle clamp depends on:
- How far the leg sections are extended
- The angle at which the legs are spread
- The width and stability of the tripod stance
- The terrain on which it is positioned
The DeathGrip is therefore best described as adjustable for low-level, seated, kneeling and standing shooting rather than advertising a fixed minimum or maximum overall height.
Finished in a sleek black, the DeathGrip Aluminium Tripod is built with both form and function in mind. Weighing 4.4kg, it strikes the perfect balance between portability and stability, making it easy to transport without compromising on performance. Its compact shipping dimensions ensure it is convenient to carry and store, ready for action whenever and wherever you need it.

What does the stated 7–59in height range mean?
BOG describes the tripod as having a nominal 7–59in height adjustment range. This is not its folded size and should not be treated as a guaranteed vertical clamp height.
The actual height at the rifle clamp changes according to the leg extension, leg angle and width of the tripod stance.
Can it be used while standing?
Yes. The adjustable legs and variable leg angles allow it to be configured for low-level, seated, kneeling and standing shooting positions.
The user’s height, terrain and preferred shooting stance will affect the final setup.
Does it attach to a Picatinny or Arca rail?
No. This version uses the padded DeathGrip clamp to hold the rifle around its stock or forend. It does not require a Picatinny or Arca rail.
Will it fit every rifle?
The adjustable clamp is suitable for a wide range of conventional rifle stocks and forends.
Very wide competition stocks, unusual chassis systems or accessories mounted beneath the forend may affect compatibility.
Will the clamp mark the rifle?
The clamping jaws contain non-marring rubber inserts designed to grip the rifle while protecting its surface.
Care should still be taken to ensure the contact areas are clean before tightening the clamp.
Does the head rotate?
Yes. The clamping head pans through 360 degrees and includes adjustable movement tension.
Does it tilt?
Yes. The rifle clamp includes tilt adjustment. BOG does not clearly state the tilt range for this particular aluminium model, so a specific number should not be advertised.
Does it have rubber feet or spikes?
It has both options. The feet can be used with rubber contact surfaces or steel ground spikes, depending on the terrain.
Is this the carbon-fibre model?
No. Product code 1099442 is the aluminium DeathGrip tripod. The carbon-fibre version is a separate model.
