What power level is this target designed for?
This target is specifically engineered for use with sub 12 ftlb air rifles. Using high-power FAC air rifles or firearms may damage the spinning mechanism or cause dangerous ricochets.
Where is the best place to set up my spinner target?
For maximum safety, always ensure the target is set up in a safe, designated shooting area with a clear, reliable backstop. Avoid placing the target near hard surfaces where a stray pellet could bounce off.
Does the target require a separate stand?
No, the Spinner features a built- n heavy duty steel spike at the base. You can simply push the spike firmly into the ground (such as a lawn or soft earth) to secure it for your session.
How does the target react when hit?
This is a "reactive" target. When you hit one of the discs, the momentum causes the target to spin rapidly around the central post, giving you instant visual feedback on your shot without the need to manually reset the target.
How do I maintain the target over time?
The steel is highly durable, but the impact of lead pellets will eventually wear away the paint on the discs. To keep the targets visible and prevent surface rust, we recommend a quick spray of bright metal paint (like yellow or orange) after each use.
Is it safe to use in a garden?
Yes, provided you have a sufficient backstop (such as a pellet catcher, a brick wall with a soft board, or a dense earth bank) and that you are using a sub 12 ftlb rifle. Always ensure your pellets stay within the boundaries of your property.
Can I use this for air pistol practice as well?
Absolutely. While designed for rifles, the discs are reactive enough to spin when hit by most standard air pistols. Just ensure you are shooting from a safe distance to avoid any splashback from the pellet.
Do the pellets ricochet when they hit the metal?
The spinning motion is designed to absorb the energy of the impact, and the angle of the discs helps deflect the pellet fragments downward. However, you should still always wear safety glasses and ensure a safe area behind and around the target.
