Q1: What size scope objective will fit without touching the rifle?
With a 36 mm base-to-centre height, these rings can accommodate scopes whose outer objective bell radius is under 36 mm.
Example:

A 70 mm objective bell = 35 mm radius → ✅ fits with 1 mm clearance

A 72 mm bell = 36 mm radius → ❌ just touches – not recommended unless rail is raised
Measure the outer casing, not just the lens. AO (Adjustable Objective) scopes often have much larger objective housings.
Q2: Are these rings for dovetail rails?
No. These are for Weaver or Picatinny rails only (standard 20 mm width).
They will not fit 9–11 mm or 13mm dovetail rails, which are narrower and use a different clamping design. For use on dovetail and adapter is required.
Q3: How tight should the top screws be?
Maximum torque for the top ring screws is 18 lbs/ft (≈2.5 Nm).
Over-tightening beyond this can damage the scope tube and affect zero. Use even pressure and a torque driver if available.
Q4: Is this height too much for standard scopes?
These are extra-high, and designed specifically to give room for larger objective bells or rifles with features like fluted barrels or oversized rails. For slim scopes, a lower mount might give better cheek weld and balance.
Q5: Suitable for airguns and rimfires?
Absolutely—many airguns and rimfire rifles use Weaver/Picatinny rails, and these rings are strong enough to handle even high-recoil springers.

Couriers
We use DPD, Royal Mail, TNT, and UPS courier services for all our UK and international orders. Once your order is dispatched, you will receive an email with your unique tracking number.
In-Store Items
These are items we have in stock and aim to dispatch within 1–2 working days. During busy periods, this may be delayed slightly. If you'd prefer to collect your item in person, please contact us in advance to arrange. Collection orders must be paid for beforehand.
Pre-Order Items
Pre-order items are typically out-of-stock or in limited supply. Purchasing a pre-order secures your item, and it will be dispatched within 24 hours of restock where possible. Check the product page for estimated restock dates. These dates may change, so staying in touch is advised.
International Delivery & Taxes
If your shipping address is outside the UK, you may incur import duties or taxes upon arrival in your country. These charges are your responsibility. Customs regulations vary, so please check with your local customs office. Some packages may be opened for inspection.

DPD Shipments & PIN Code Delivery
We have now introduced DPD Pin Code verification for all orders shipped via DPD. You will receive a PIN via email and text.
A valid email and mobile number must be provided at checkout. Emails will come from Riviera House 3PL. Please check spam/junk folders if not received.
Failure to present your PIN to the delivery driver will result in a failed delivery and rescheduling may be required.
