Delta Javelin 4.5-30x56 FFP SMR-1 Illuminated Zero Stop 34mm Rifle Scope
The Javelin 4.5–30×56 is a full-size, feature-rich riflescope blending high-end optics and tactical adjustability at an accessible price.
With a large 56 mm extra-low-dispersion (ED) objective lens and fully multicoated glass, it renders bright, high-contrast images — even in dim morning or dusk light. Its 4.5–30× magnification range (8× zoom) plus 100 mm eye relief make it versatile from medium-distance hunting to long-range precision shooting.
Reticle and adjustment performance are where the Javelin shines: the illuminated Scandinavia Match Reticle (SMR) sits in the first focal plane (FFP), enabling consistent mil-based holdovers across all magnifications.
Turrets are locking and feature zero-stop for reliable return to zero, while 0.1 mrad click adjustments, up to ~30–32 mrad of elevation/windage, and side parallax from 25 m to ∞ make it equally suited for close-range varmint work or long-distance engagements.
Durable construction — nitrogen filled, waterproof and shock-resistant — ensures that the Javelin holds zero and optical performance under tough field conditions. Additional touches like a throw-lever, lens covers, sunshade, and red-illuminated reticle make this a complete, ready-to-mount solution. (mount rings NOT included)
The Delta Javelin is comfortable with up to 8000 Joule, which means it can be used on a caliber Magnum (.338 Lapua). Feature Rich with all the top end features you would expect from a £2000 scope without the price. Chinese made hence the lower price - but with stringent quality control.
Best suited for:
-
Long-range precision shooters (e.g. PRS, F-class, tactical) who rely on mil-based holdovers or ballistic drop compensation.
-
Hunters or marksmen who want a versatile optic bridging both mid-range hunting and long-distance shots.
-
Shooters using high-power rifle calibers (.308 Win, .300 Win Mag, .338 Lapua etc.) or even smaller calibers when parallax is adjusted — useful for varminting or small-game at variable ranges.
-
Users who value a combination of feature-rich optics and affordability — performance close to premium scopes, but without premium cost.
Less ideal if:
-
You mostly shoot at very close range (e.g. <50 m) and don’t need high magnification or parallax adjustment: the size, weight and full-size design may be unnecessary.
-
Lightweight, compact setup is preferred (e.g. for lightweight stalking rifle) — at ~1 kg and 388 mm length, this is a heavier, full-size scope.

ED glass + large 56 mm objective: enhanced light transmission and clarity, excellent even in low-light (dawn/dusk) scenarios.
-
Wide magnification range (4.5–30×): from close/medium range to extended long-range — versatile for multiple shooting or hunting roles.
-
First Focal Plane (FFP) illuminated SMR-1 (or SMR-2) reticle: consistent mil-markings at any zoom level, useful for accurate ranging, holdovers, and ballistic drops.
-
Lockable turrets + zero-stop + 0.1 mrad clicks: precise, repeatable adjustments and secure zeroing back — essential for competitive shooting or tactical use.
-
Side parallax (25 m–∞) + 100 mm eye relief: flexibility for both short-range calibers (.22 LR, .17 HMR) and long-range sniper calibers, with comfortable eye placement.
-
Full package: includes sunshade, flip-up lens caps, throw-lever, illumination battery — ready to mount out of the box.
-
Robust build: nitrogen-filled, water- and fog-resistant, shock-resistant, suitable for demanding field conditions
The SMR (Scandinavian Match Reticles) reticles are made for shooters by shooters. All SMR reticles are designed to be clean and simple without any unnecessary distractions but remain functional, versatile and efficient.
The SMR-1 is a holdover reticle made to fit the needs of long-range, field and PRS-style shooters, however, due to the illuminated centre, the reticle is also ideal for low-light hunting.
The reticle features options such as an open-top, a floating centre dot, 0.2 mil hash marks and an integrated free-floating ruler with 0.1 mil hash marks for easier target measurement.
Field of View @ 4.5x
Field of View @ 30x
The holdover ”Christmas tree” has 0.2 hash marks for distance and windage hold, the numbers for mil holdover are placed 1.2 mil on the right from the center to be easily spotted when counting holdover, but still far enough not to cover the target at the most critical parts of the reticle.

Q: Is the reticle illuminated and usable in low light?
A: Yes — it features a first-focal-plane SMR-1 (or SMR-2) mil reticle with red illumination and multiple brightness settings, ideal for dawn/dusk or low-light shooting.
Q: What magnification range does it cover?
A: 4.5× up to 30× — giving a versatile 8× zoom, suitable for both mid-range paces and long-range precision shots.
Q: Does it have parallax adjustment?
A: Yes — side parallax adjustment from 25 m to infinity, which allows accurate focusing for both close-range calibres (e.g. .22 LR, 17 HMR) and long-range rifle calibres.
Q: What’s the adjustment precision?
A: Adjusts in 0.1 mrad increments; elevation and windage turrets offer up to roughly 30–32 mrad of total adjustment — with lockable turrets and a zero-stop for reliable return to zero.
Q: Is the scope durable / weather-resistant?
A: Yes — nitrogen-filled for fogproofing, waterproof and shock-resistant; designed to hold zero in demanding field conditions.
Q: What’s included in the package?
A: The scope comes with a sunshade, flip-up lens covers, throw-lever, illumination battery (CR2032), and is ready to mount out of the box (34mm ring mounts required, NOT included)
Q: What rifles / calibres is this suitable for?
A: It’s well-suited for high-power rifles for long-range shooting (e.g. .308 Win, .300 Win Mag, .338 Lapua). Thanks to adjustable parallax, it can also be used on lighter calibres or varmint rifles with shorter ranges.
Q: Is this scope too heavy for a lightweight setup?
A: At ~1 036 g and 388.6 mm long, it is a full-size, robust scope — excellent for long-range / tactical rigs, but perhaps not ideal for users prioritizing a lightweight, compact setup.
